Sabrina & Brett ….Wedding
•June 8, 2009 • 3 CommentsThis weekend I was so excited to work with Sabrina, Brett and their families for their wedding. Honestly, I have never met a bride that was more excited about getting married. She couldn’t wait to get into her dress and walk down that aisle. As the commissioner was about to pronounce them husband and wife, I thought she was going to jump out of her skin in excitement. Anyway, we had a wonderful day and the bad weather held off in order for us to get all of our shots. They were married out at Schicks Barn in Melville. Darren and Donna are on the “home place” now and were happy to lend it out to family for the ceremony and photos. There was a plethora of place to shoot from an old homestead, some of Grama’s antiques that are still around, the many trees in blossom and of coarse the great old barn that still holds a few dances. Thank you Brett & Sabrina and your wedding party and families for being so great to work with. Here’s just a few images from your day. Enjoy!

Her engagement ring in the family bible. No significance with the verse. I just picked it because they were married on the 6th day of the 6th month, lol.

What a gorgeous and tall family

These two little guys seemed to be every where all day. They were so well behaved!!

My favorite shot of the day!!!

This ring shot was a special request of the bride as she had seen it on my blog at another wedding. I was happy to accommodate her

Okay, a special thanks to Grama for having this old mail box out in the bush. I love when you can find an old spot of the yard that isn’t manicured!! It’s a treasure box.

The wonderful wedding party! For this shot they thought I was just taking a photo of the sky, lol.

We had a special little guy that followed us around all day and had to get in a few photos. Hellooooo Freddie, lol!!!

How happy do these two look?
The handsome groom!

And of coarse the gorgeous bride!

Thanks again you guys for just enjoying yourselves. It always shines through in the photos!!
Sarah + Grad
•June 5, 2009 • Leave a CommentLast week I had the opportunity to shoot Sarah’s grad pictures. What a great way to start off the season. She is such a sweet and beautiful girl. I know she will do great at what ever she attempts in life. Here are a few images of Sarah, as well as her wonderful family. You can sure tell that this good looking bunch are all related. They really look so much alike and act alike. They are all so nice and so funny.

A classic beauty!

Really how good looking are these people

Love that warm sunlight.

We also did a few casuals before the sun went down and the ticks attacked, lol.

Seriously, if their mom and dad got tired of them, I would take all three of these kids home.

If you follow my blog you will remember from last year that our cat had to get in every shoot. Well, he didn’t forget this year, lol.

A quick collage of a few of her images.

Valley Portraits has been published!!!
•April 24, 2009 • 1 CommentWell this is a fantastic way to start the day! I just checked my emails & the very cool Kat, at Rock n’ Roll Brides out of London, England, has published one of my weddings. “Rock n’ Roll Brides” is a site that show cases unique and individual weddings. Anyway, check out the post & have a fabulous day!! http://www.rocknrollbride.com/?p=8228 And for those of you bloggers that are planning a wedding, remember its your wedding and you need to enjoy it so do it “Your Way”!! LOL, I sound like Frank Sinatra!

Regina Baby Expo
•April 20, 2009 • Leave a CommentThis past weekend was the Regina Baby Expo at the Centre of the Arts. I usually have a booth at Bridal Fair every year but this is my first time attending the Baby Expo. It was a great event and a really crazy busy day. I had a draw for a free family sitting and out of the 300+ people that entered the lucky winner was Danielle Stevenson of Regina. Congratulations Danielle and I look forward to working with you. For the rest of you “Mommy to Be’s”, don’t forget about the up coming Maternity Day that I will be holding at the Hotel Sask. Be sure to email me and let me know if you are interested so that when the date is set, your name is on the list. It will be a wonderful time of pampering. Hair, makeup and yummy treats while you wait. Then an hour long photo shoot. Just what every yummy mummy deserves. Just remind that hubby of yours that Mothers Day is just around the corner and this would be the perfect gift. Anyway, every post is better with an image or two so here’s a couple from my booth at Baby Expo.

Baby Mahlyn :)
•April 15, 2009 • 1 CommentToday I was lucky enough to have Sarah, Logan & their adorable baby daughter Mahlyn come for a visit. I have known Sarah since she was a cute little girl herself. My mom always use to tell me that if I had a baby girl one day, that I should name her Sarah since this one was so sweet. Hmmm…I don’t think I ever told you that Sarah, lol. Well, now you know. Anyway, I felt very honored that they came for family photos today. They are very special people and they have a very special angel, Jorja, that watches over all of them every day.

Texture…
•April 6, 2009 • Leave a CommentSometimes its just fun to play around with the same image and a variety of textures to get a different look. Here’s a couple more from today.

Another adorable little man :)
•April 6, 2009 • 4 CommentsIf you follow my blog at all, you will recognize the “little man” from my session this morning, since I have taken his pictures so many times. I haven’t seen his family in a while as they moved away, so it was so nice to see him again and see how much he has grown. He has been one of my very favorite little people. He is cute as can be with a personality to match. I have just wrapped up this session and can’t wait for him to come back. Okay, Kelly and Adam can come too, lol. Seriously guys, thanks so much for making the trip out here and for being so great to work with as usual.

When Ayden arrived he was a little sleepy but it didn’t take long for him to start to perk up. Then before you knew it he was ready to jump on the bed. Just like all little boys.

But this little one must be able to get away with some fun stuff like that because just look at the face he gives you. How adorable is he?

Back to serious. Hmmmm…..maybe he’s going to be an actor, lol.

Then he noticed a fly in the window so Adam had to catch it and let him go outside. Afterwards he was very concerned about where he was and this was his concerned face. He just makes me giggle.

What a good looking bunch.

I absolutely love every “Ayden” face. Happy, sad, serious or just thinking.

Love this next one with his finger in his mouth.

Play time shot through the big mirrored doors.

Everyones looking at the camera with a smile in this one. Thank goodness you can switch heads in Photoshop, lol.

Its so cute that Ayden and Adam having matching heads

A little texture for some fun.

Superbaby :)
•April 5, 2009 • 3 CommentsSo what is faster than a speeding bullet, can eat cheerios faster than you can dish them out and is able to melt the heart of any old photographer? Well, it’s baby Carter and thats who I spent a few hours with on Saturday. I shot his mom and dads wedding a few years ago and now this little guys just celebrated his first birthday. He has the bluest eyes and sweetest smile and I seriously wanted to scoop him up and take him home with me but somehow I don’t think mom and dad would have let me. Nor Grandma or Grampa for that matter. Anyway, shooting the photos of a one year old is not for the faint at heart. You have to be fast and flexible. None of which I think I am these days. But, with the help of mom and dad and a big box of cheerios, we were able to capture some great “1 year old” moments. I hope you enjoy them

Isn’t he just the sweetest thing ever?

Now it didn’t take long and we couldn’t keep up with him anymore so we broke out the box of cheerios. This could be an add, lol. Doesn’t it remind you of those “e-trade” commercials with the talking baby? Hmmm…..you could buy 4 boxes of Cheerios and with this attached coupon save $2 per bag of diapers……

Okay, I know he’s not looking at the camera but I just had to throw this one in because of his lashes. Are you kidding me?

Blowing kisses.

I just love babies expressions. Here he is playing with daddys Mickey Mouse from when he was little. Aweeee….

Just look at how cute I am?

And not just cute, I am smart too. I can read Mommy’s books.

He was really interested in getting his hands on my camera and was coming right for it, lol.

Dad was ready for this shot but somebody else had other ideas, lol.

Puddle time!!!

Like I said, sooo cute I could have taken him home.
